Staying Informed!

We are a very busy club and there’s usually a lot going on, so it is important that you make an effort to stay informed.

Please make sure you read the Weekly Email each Thursday so you don’t miss anything important. You should also check the noticeboard outside the Golf Shop whenever you’re out at the Club, to see what events are coming up. You should also check the Local Rules each day before teeing off, in case there’s changes or works going on on the course.

Bookings & Timesheets

Bookings are essential at HMBGC for both competition and social play, even for Members. Timesheets are available at kiosks in the clubhouse and Golf Shop or online. If you have any issues you can always call the GolfShop and have them make a booking for you.

You can book all your personal rounds yourself, via the Members Portal, as soon as the timesheets open. If you are booking a visitor in to play with you, you will need to call the Golf Shop. It’s usually easiest if you book yourself first, and then ask for your visitor to be added.

Make sure you book any motorised golf carts and hire clubs as well, as both are limited.

When playing, please make sure you report to the Golf Shop fifteen minutes before your booked time.

Summer Timesheets

During the wet season, we are fortunate to have an All-Weather 9-Hole Course we use when the full course becomes unplayable.

So during that time, the full competition timesheets will be open as normal and the competition will be shown as 18 holes.

If the weather holds and the full course is playable, we will all play the nominated 18 Hole competition.

If we’re not so lucky and the full course isn not playable, the daily competition will be changed to a 9-Hole Competition on the all-weather course.

Obtaining Handicaps

In order to obtain a handicap, a player is required to submit three 18-hole cards or 6 9-hole cards. Each must be dated and signed by the player and the marker. The marker must have an official GA handicap.

Once all cards have been submitted, the staff in the GolfShop will submit them to GolfLink and calculate your starting handicap.

They will email you with this information and instructions for booking in through the Members Portal.
